What is lower holloway?

Lower Holloway is a residential district located in the London Borough of Islington, in north London. It is bordered by Upper Holloway to the north, Highbury to the west, Canonbury to the east and King's Cross to the south. The area is primarily residential with a mix of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, as well as some newer developments.

Lower Holloway has a diverse population and is home to a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes along Holloway Road, one of the main thoroughfares in the area. It is also home to one of the oldest football clubs in the country, Arsenal FC, and the Arsenal Stadium, which was their home ground until 2006.

Transport links in Lower Holloway are good, with several bus routes running through the area, as well as the Piccadilly Line stopping at Holloway Road tube station. The area also has excellent transport links to the wider London area, with Kings Cross and St. Pancras stations nearby providing access to national and international destinations.
